BRAZIL AND VENEZUELA BY LAND FROM GUYANA
Arm yourself with your yellow fever certificate and Brazilian cash, namely Real. If you do not have the yellow fever certificate get one at the Ministry of Health at Brickdam, near to Coffee statute.
You can exchange Guyana dollars for Brazilian Real at the private bus depot. Cambios in Georegtown do not deal with the Real. You can also get Real at Lethem from the taxi drivers. Catch one of the Georgetown to Lethem buses/ vans . It is a rough ride that takes about 15 hours . The bus goes up to Linden through the East Bank of Deemerara Road and then the road becomes bad.
You can also go to Lethem by air from Eugence Correia International Airport ) located at Ogle on the East Coast of Demerara just about 20 minutes outside Georgetown) At Lethem take a taxi. The Guyana Immigration is a few minutes away. Check out with Guyana immigration. The same or another taxi can drive you across the Takatu river bridge to Bon Fim, Brazil. That is less than 5 minutes away.
If you hold a Guyanese passport you do not need a visa to enter Bon Fim. If you plan to go pass Bon Fim check in with Brazil Federal Authority. After you are stamped in you can take the Air Conditioned modern Bus to Boa Vista. There is the morning and evening bus which takes 2 hours to Boa Vista (which has an international airport). You can fly to Sao Paulo etc). The highway from BonFim to Boa Vista is excellent.
At Boa Vista you can also take bus to San Eleana ( 3 hours ) and Caracas, Venezuela( 10- 12 hours)
